Dublin, Ireland. 1989

The details of that day remained imprinted in my memory for many years. That afternoon in 1989 was one of the happiest moments of my existence.

Years passed, and my memories faded gradually for no reason other than I started building many new ones. That afternoon, speeding down the sand of the emerald island, sliding with a plastic sled, caused me so much joy. But time forgives no one, and that day faded from my memory as if it had never existed.

One morning, many years later, while visiting my mother's house, I came across an album of photographs she had collected. The images in that book told the story of my life from the day I was born. It isn't easy to describe the feeling that greeted me when I saw all those childhood memories. I ran to make myself a coffee, ready to delight myself with that fascinating time machine. Suddenly, I saw it. A printed photograph that gave me a feeling of exorbitant happiness.

It hit me like a bullet to the chest. That printed image sent me back to that beach in Ireland all those years ago. I relived that moment that brought me so much happiness as a child. His face doesn't lie. The boy in the photograph was experiencing euphoria.
At that moment, the incalculable value of a photograph became clear to me.
